Last Minute Annoucement for Panel Room 2

Hello everyone!

Madicon starts tomorrow! I can’t believe this has come so far, and I can’t wait to see everyone at con!

Anyways, a last minute announcement about Panel Room 2: It will have a projector in it but it will not have a computer to connect to the projector. If you are running a panel in there that requires an audio/visual presentation, then please bring your own! If you don’t have a computer then I will bring mine with me all weekend, so it can be borrowed for panels. Just hunt me down if this is necessary!

Madicon is almost here!

Check out the new as-ready-as-it’ll-ever-be Madicon 21 Schedule! This is the completed verison of the Schedule, so any events posted after this will not be on the printed schedule!

Madicon 21 Schedule Version 1.0 Online!

With Madicon rapidly approaching I now have completed the first verison of the Schedule for Madicon 21. There are still some events missing, such as the 40k Tournament, Kelly Turnbull’s events, and 501st events, but I assure you they will all be there on the final version!

So give it a gander and gear up for con! As I put together the program for Madicon I will be fully updating the panels and events page, so keep checking back for more updates!

Annual Costume Contest

Announcing Madicon’s Annual Costume Contest! This event takes place Saturday afternoon at 3pm in the Vendor Room and is a great chance to show off lovingly crafted costumes from all genres!

Judges for this event will be:

Eliza Strauss, an experienced costumer with years of experience (She’ll also have a vendor table at Madicon, be sure to check her out!).

Evan Norris, a costume builder and enthusiast with a great deal of experience in fibers (i.e., sewn costumes).

and me, Jacqueline Guerrier, a cosplayer and recipient of several awards with a specialty in non-sewn costumes.

All ages and skill-levels are encouraged to enter, but please, only handmade costumes.

Werewolf LARP at Madicon 21

Each year Madicon has at least one LARP during the con weekend (last year we were lucky enough to have two). This year Madicon’s LARP will be from the World of Darkness, Werewolf: The Forsaken. This LARP will he hosted by our local Camarilla chapter and run by our own Werewolf Storyteller.

The LARP will take place from 1-5pm Saturday afternoon in the Highlands room, with check-in beginning at noon. This LARP will feature pre-established characters that can be played, but if you show up early, you can easily have your own character made for you! Join in the fun with Camarilla’s newest LARP!

Swords and Light Sabers

This year our long-time con friends 501st Garrison Tyrannus and COMARR will be joining us to participte in the festivities at Madicon 21.

For the first time the 501st will have total command of the Allegheny room, so come by for Fan-films, panels, and fun!

COMARR will be doing demos down in front of the Festival stage, be sure to come by!

Get Your Rave On with DJ SaSu!

That’s right! After the thrilling success of last year’s Madicon Rave we have invited the talented DJ SaSu back to Madicon to play another set (or three) after the Saturday night Geek Auction! This rave will be 4 hours of body-moving, bass-thumping, hard-steppin’ music, from 8pm (warm-up) to midnight in the Festival Highlands room! Be sure to come join the fun!

Madicon 21 is happy to debut Press Play!: A musical compilation of some of today’s popular video game music. This is a concert featuring the music of video games, including The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, and more. Featuring some of the best voices, instrumentalists, and composers James Madison’s School of Music has to offer, we hope you join us in celebrating this premiere event with a night full of some of the best music nerd-dom has to offer.

Hello from Madicon Headquarters!

The days are counting down to Madicon 21 and everything is proceeding according to plan. I’ve been hard at work compiling the Madicon 21 Schedule (the alpha version of which will be posted soon), and also updating the website. Currently the two pages that have been tended to are the Vendors page and the Art Auction. Be sure to check them out!

We’re getting a great list of Vendors and art for the Art Auction. This year the Vendor Room will be one busy place!
